Phoenix
Paper art installation, 2017
Phoenix is a mysterious symbol of Oriental culture, a bridge between man and god, with the help of which man can interpret the unknown and the misty distance.
The ten phoenixes play and dance with each other, forming a dim scene existing in the memory of ancient times. Its pieces turn into innumerable human body however, seems to be the trace that we struggle together.
"Phoenix" is also an experiment on paper. A quite large area of the work uses mirror paper, which has a more direct relationship with the space, just like mirrors that replicate. The artist wants the ten phoenixes to be integrated into the installation space. The presence of the audience adds color to the work itself and becomes the temporary skin of them.
