在巴黎香榭丽舍大街上，一个长88米的奇妙空间正吸引着来自世界各地的目光。这是阿里巴巴集团为2024巴黎奥运会打造的“阿里廊(Alibaba Wonder Avenue)”展厅。这个互动空间仿佛是一扇能通向未来的窗，游客能在此体验由人工智能（Artificial Intelligence）带来的平行宇宙新体验。

“阿里廊”独特的设计与周围古典建筑形成鲜明对比，却又巧妙地融入了巴黎的城市景观。白色的波浪状屋顶如同一条柔软的丝带，轻盈地飘浮在展馆之上。这种起伏的线条不仅赋予了建筑动感，还呼应了数字时代信息流动的特征。步入“阿里廊”，一场科技与艺术交织的梦境就此展开，这里面一共孵化了四个“时空胶囊”，每一个胶囊都承载着不同的平行宇宙体验，人工智能不再是遥不可及的概念，而是触手可及的现实。AI会根据访客的个人喜好定制专属的平行宇宙身份卡，为其解锁适配的平行宇宙，进入新宇宙后，将与AI一起完成深度个性化共创，包括定制香水、音乐和时装等。所有准备工作完成后，就能来到“阿里廊”末尾处的秀场，与自己的虚拟形象在平行宇宙一起走秀。

An extraordinary 88-meter-long space on the Champs-Élysées is captivating global audiences: the “Alibaba Wonder Avenue,” a pavilion crafted by Alibaba Group for the 2024 Paris Olympics. This interactive venue opens a window to the future, offering visitors immersive journeys into parallel universes powered by artificial intelligence (AI).

Distinct in design yet harmoniously integrated into Paris’ urban charm, the “Alibaba Wonder Avenue” features a floating white, wave-like roof — a light ribbon that ripples across the space. These fluid lines embody the dynamic flow of information in the digital age while evoking movement and rhythm. Inside, the pavilion unfolds as a realm where art and technology converge, with four “time capsules” inviting visitors to explore customized parallel universes. AI becomes more than a concept — it transforms into a tangible presence. Visitors receive AI-personalized identity cards, unlocking new realms to co-create perfumes, music, and fashion tailored to their tastes. At the pavilion’s grand finale, visitors take to the runway with their AI-generated avatars, sharing the spotlight in their parallel world.

Within the “Alibaba Wonder Avenue,” Chen Fenwan, a collaborative artist for the Paris Olympics, brings to life a parallel universe named Paper Cutting. This verdant, thriving world — abundant with plant fibers — elevates paper to the foundation of civilization and creativity. Seamlessly blending traditional paper-cutting artistry with future-facing environmental ideals, Chen imagines a utopia where nature’s cycles are revered, sustainability is intrinsic, and a harmonious, vibrant paper world flourishes.

In Paper Cutting, everything maintains absolute and perfect symmetry, whether it is trees or buildings. This visual harmony reflects an aesthetic pursuit and an extension of Chen’s daily contemplations. In this ideal universe, humans and nature, tradition and modernity, the individual and the collective achieve a form of ultimate balance and harmony.

Chen takes on a new meaning in the Paper Cutting. Visitors can design and customize garments made entirely from paper, experimenting with AI-powered virtual fittings to explore diverse styles. Environmental responsibility shifts from a lofty goal to a lived reality.

The Paper Cutting utopia mirrors the sustainability vision of the 2024 Paris Olympics. The Games embrace reuse and regeneration: repurposing existing venues, constructing temporary facilities, and prioritizing bio-based and recycled materials. Even the Athletes’ Village embraces this ethos, with beds crafted from cardboard and mattresses made from recycled fishing nets. Such details embody a shared aspiration for a greener, more sustainable world — an aspiration that Chen amplifies through her vivid, immersive artistry. 除了“纸宇宙”，粉丸的架上拼贴作品《我的轴对称》此次也漂洋过海来到了展览现场。自2022年初起，粉丸开始探索一种新的表现形式——在油画布上进行剪纸拼贴创作。这一系列作品以“对称”为核心主题，将自己和身边人的肖像置于多彩密集的剪纸色块中，色块的层层叠加赋予了作品独特的质感和厚度，使其超越了传统平面绘画的界限。这种创作方法融合了平面与立体、绘画与雕塑的特质，不仅展现了纸的多样可能性，更传递了一种细腻、叙事性的情绪。在这幅作品中，“对称”突破了视觉平面，上升为一种情感隐喻，在粉丸的理解中，“对称”是一种动态的关系结构，例如，“我爱你”与“你爱我”，代表了人际关系中的相互性和平衡。

与以往的大型空间装置不同，这幅作品将观众的视线限定在一个方向上，却意外地带来一种更加丰富的观看体验。当观众站定凝视这件作品时，这种观看过程相应地也产生了一种对称张力，使得整个体验更具流动性和诗意。

In addition, Chen’s My Axisymmetry also made its way across the ocean to the exhibition. Since early 2022, Chen has been experimenting with a new medium: collage on canvas, utilizing paper-cutting techniques. The series takes "symmetry" as its central theme, embedding portraits of herself and her close connections within vividly colored, intricately layered paper-cut fragments. The layers of overlapping hues lend the work a distinctive texture and depth, pushing beyond the constraints of traditional two-dimensional painting. Combining elements of flat and sculptural art, her approach highlights the diverse possibilities of paper while imbuing her creations with a delicate, narrative emotional resonance. In this art piece, "symmetry" evolves from a mere visual concept into an emotional metaphor. To Chen, symmetry embodies dynamic relationships—such as "I love you" and "You love me"—reflecting reciprocity and balance within human connections.

Departing from her signature large-scale installations, it focuses the audience’s gaze in a single direction. Paradoxically, this restraint generates a richer visual experience. As viewers fix their eyes on the work, their act of observation creates a symmetrical tension, lending fluidity and poetic depth to the experience.

Thomas Bach, President of the International Olympic Committee, attended the Alibaba Wonder Avenue opening ceremony, where he and Chen exchanged views on Chinese paper-cutting art and her creative philosophy, creating a cross-disciplinary dialogue between art and sports.

面对AI技术的迅猛发展，粉丸在采访中分享了自己的看法。她认为，虽然AI为艺术创作带来了便利，但艺术的本质——观念和学习——仍然是最不可或缺的部分。艺术创作需要不断学习和积累经验，包括对艺术史的了解、对不同艺术风格的研究，以及对技术和材料的掌握等等。虽然AI工具可以辅助艺术家提高效率，但它无法取代艺术家的学习和成长过程。AI固然是一个强大的工具，但只有当它与艺术家的人文思考和创造力相结合时，才能诞生真正有意义的艺术作品。

When asked about the swift evolution of AI technology, Chen reflected on its role in art creation. While AI has undeniably made artistic processes more accessible, she believes that the core of art—concepts and learning—remains irreplaceable. Artistic growth hinges on continual learning, from exploring art history to mastering diverse styles, techniques, and materials. Although AI tools can enhance efficiency, they cannot substitute for the artist’s journey of growth and discovery. From her perspective, AI’s true potential lies in its ability to complement an artist’s creativity and humanistic vision, resulting in works that are both innovative and deeply meaningful.
